Mountain Safety Research® Awarded Innovator of the Year by Seattle Business Magazine

SEATTLE, Wash. (May 15, 2018) – Mountain Safety Research® (MSR®) is honored to be named Seattle Business Magazine’s Manufacturing Company of the Year in the Innovation Category.
MSR was nominated among dozens of other manufacturers large and small from all over the state, and selected by judges as a finalist. At the 2018 Washington Manufacturing Awards Gala on Thursday, May 3rd, finalists in seven categories were honored and winners of Silver and Gold were announced. MSR’s Vice President, Doug Sanders, accepted the award on behalf of the brand. Members of the MSR manufacturing team, members of the board of directors, and chairman of the board, David Burroughs, joined Doug on stage as he accepted the award.

Seattle Business’ 9th annual Washington Manufacturing Awards honor companies making important progress in productivity, growth, innovation and sustainability. The magazine defines sustainability as not only operating in a way that makes smart use of resources with consideration of the environment, but also in terms of building a business that can sustain itself, enduring time, change and competition.
MSR was selected for its commitment to quality manufacturing and innovation, ensuring customers are outfitted with the finest, most reliable gear available for outdoor adventures. In addition to its recognition as an outdoor equipment manufacturer, MSR was also recognized for its work in global health through its MSR Global Health division. MSR Global Health develops and manufactures low-cost, field-proven products that improve access to basic human needs in low-resource communities in the developing world. Established in 2015, MSR Global Health aims to provide products that improve access to basic human needs such as food, water, and shelter with a team of in-house engineers, water treatment scientists, and product developers.
As the recipient of this award, MSR is included in the Manufacturing Awards feature story in the May issue of Seattle Business magazine honoring this year’s winners, which was distributed at the Gala and hit newsstands on May 4th.
