Acclaimed Colorado Company Expands Into New Eco-Friendly Category
(BOULDER, CO – April 2021)– mountainFLOW, the innovative and award-winning Colorado company that revolutionized the ski wax industry with its line of groundbreaking eco-friendly products, today unveiled a new collection of plant-based bike products that are biodegradable, non-toxic, and rival all other petroleum-based competitors on the market.
The new line of bike products – which includes four different lubes, a grease and a wash/degreaser – mark a bold move into a new category for mountainFlow, which has traditionally focused on creating an eco-friendly way to improve the skiing experience.
The new products include bike lubes for riding in three different weather conditions – wet, moderate and dry – as well as a waterproof bike grease for excellent lubrication and waterproofness, and a bike wash/degreaser that works on all parts of the bike, including the drive train.
“We are stoked to launch our new line of plant-based bike products,” said mountainFLOW founder and CEO Peter Arlein. “Holding true to our ‘No Compromises’ ethos, we have developed high-performance and eco-friendly products that are as good or better than the petroleum-based competition while being completely non-toxic and biodegradable.”
Each of mountainFLOW’s new products are made from plant-based oils, waxes or cleaners, with no petroleum products included. The packaging for the bike lube products is made from 100% Post-Consumer Recycled material, and the bottle used for the bike wash/degreaser is made from recycled paper and plastic, containing 70 percent less plastic than the typical bottle.
“MountainFLOW bike products are something for the future, they’re good for the bike and great for the environment,” said Norwegian World Cup alpine ski racer and mountainFLOW athlete Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. “That’s how we like it!”
“It was nice to spray off my bike and see it all drain down the street knowing there were no toxic chemicals washing away into the storm drain,” said four-time Mountain Biking World Champion Brian Lopes.

About MountainFLOW
In 2016, we formed mountainFLOW eco-wax with a straightforward mission: provide a simple and eco-friendly way to improve the skiing experience. We soon realized that eco-friendly waxes were a rare commodity in the ski industry, so we began testing plant-based waxes. Our hope is that the everyday skier will make the choice to use a product that works great and is more friendly to our mountain playgrounds.
