Mountainsmith Launches Waterproof Lumbar Packs at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2018

Golden, CO – Mountainsmith – craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear – will debut new waterproof designs in their iconic lumbar collection at Outdoor Retailer this month in Denver, CO (Booth #: 44080-UL). designed by legendary outdoorsman and founder, Patrick Smith, the lumbar packs are a staple of the Mountainsmith brand. As a leader in the category, Mountainsmith continues to push the collection and the industry forward.  2019 offers lumbar solutions for trail runs, watersports, and rain-soaked adventures. New products are set to hit retailers nationwide January 2019.

For 2019, Mountainsmith continues to make the outdoors more accessible while growing their more technical, specialty pack solutions. Building on the success of the iconic Tour pack, the entirely waterproof Dry Tour allows for more adventures on the water and in unpredictable weather. The pack also offers the convenience of a removable water bottle pocket and a pass-thru sleeve ideal for a fishing net or added storage. Complementing the Dry Tour, the Dry Kick is a waterproof, roll-top solution that can be worn as a lumbar pack, clipped onto a backpack, or modified into a stuff sack.

“Since our original lumbar pack in the early 80s, Mountainsmith has become known for its iconic lumbar designs,” remarks Mountainsmith President, Jay Getzel.  “Looking ahead at 2019, we wanted to take our bread and butter another step forward. We are excited to introduce the Dry Tour and Dry Kick, two new waterproof designs for weather sensitive gear and waterproof adventures.”

Mountainsmith expands the collection further with the addition of the Buzz and Dart –distinguishing Mountainsmith’s reentry into trail running and lightweight day hiking.  Both Lumbar Packs are built with 210d Robic Alkex for ultra-light carry and maximum durability. Water bottles are included.
