The award acknowledges Petzl’s outstanding innovation in design, materials and performance for the ALTITUDE harness

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (December 14, 2016) — The Petzl ALTITUDE harness earned a prestigious Fall/Winter 2016 Gear of the Year award from the National Geographic Adventure for its innovative and weight-saving construction.

National Geographic Adventure wrote “Petzl’s Altitude strips away all the unnecessaries and delivers a minimalist but effective harness for ski mountaineering and other alpine pursuits when you aren’t carrying a full rack or hanging on a rope for extended periods.”

The ultra-light harness weighs in at 150 grams (size S/M) thanks to Petzl’s award-winning WIREFRAME Technology. Spectra® strands eliminate the need for webbing and foam by optimally distributing pressure in the waistbelt and leg loops.

The ALTITUDE’s streamlined, easy-to-don design makes it the perfect go-to harness for fast-and-light skiing and mountaineering expeditions. Four ultra-light equipment loops integrate into the harness to minimize interference when wearing a backpack.
