New Speakers Announced for the Sea Otter Classic Summit Executive Event, Presented by Life Time, Inc. April 5-7
February 17, 2022
MONTEREY, Calif. (Feb. 17, 2022) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Life Time, the nation’s premier Healthy Way of Life brand (NYSE: LTH), and the Sea Otter Classic today announced new additions to an all-star speaker lineup intended to bring life to the theme of the inaugural Sea Otter Classic Summit executive event: Unlocking the New Business Landscape.
Iconic running industry leader Jim Weber, CEO of Brooks Running and author of “Running With Purpose: How Brooks Outpaced Goliath Competitors to Lead the Pack,” will deliver an inspiring closing keynote for the Summit. Jim will share how he led a passionate, focused team to successfully compete with the dominant platform brands in athletic and outdoor.
“More than twenty years ago, we made a big bet that if we put the runner at the center of everything we do—delivering the product they need and then celebrating the many reasons they run—we could build a leading brand in run,” said Weber. “I am excited and honored to speak at Life Time’s Sea Otter Classic Summit to share Brooks’ journey and connect with other outdoor industry leaders who work every day to inspire others around the many positive benefits of a healthy, active outdoor lifestyle.”
Other speakers added to the Summit’s line up include:
- Chris Walton and Anne Mezzenga, the founders of Omnitalk, a respected retail podcast and news outlet that’s taken a leading position in retail journalism, track and analyze how tech innovations and experiential activations in the retail space continue to train our shared consumer. They’ll present their popular point-counterpoint format from the stage addressing the top five most impactful business headlines executives must consider through 2022.
- Dirk Lueth, co-founder of the fast-growing Metaverse Upland (powered by blockchain technology) and co-author of a forthcoming book on the Metaverse economy, will lay out both a vision and pathway for outdoor rec leaders to successfully bridge to Web. 3.0.
“The Sea Otter Classic has been the rally point of the bicycle, and increasingly, the many tiers of the outdoor industry,” said Frank Yohannan, co-founder and director of the Sea Otter Classic. “Brands from the outdoor, bike, endurance and RV-Overland categories already come to Monterey for our event at Laguna Seca. So it’s a great opportunity for our leadership to meet and discuss our collective future. We look forward to seeing you in Monterey in April!”
Outdoor recreation leaders from the bike, outdoor, endurance and overland/RV categories will be resourced and inspired to responsibly grow their businesses while driving their brands to create positive impact at the inaugural Summit. These four categories of outdoor recreation share a consumer who will be in attendance at the Sea Otter Classic, which directly follows the Summit.
Final additions to the speaker lineup will be announced next week and registration for the Summit is now open. Attendee numbers will be limited to ensure the most productive, in-person networking and learning possible. The Sea Otter Classic Summit takes place April 5-7 in Monterey, Calif., immediately prior to the Life Time Sea Otter Classic presented by Continental, and is presented by Life Time.
