Norrøna Unveils Sustainably Focused Hiking and Biking Collections for Spring 2020

Norwegian technical apparel brand launches new and updated products at regional trade shows

BOULDER, Colo. (June 18, 2019) — Norrøna, the four-season Norwegian outdoor brand known for its sustainably built premium outerwear, will exhibit its Spring 2020 line assortment at select regional shows across the country.

In an effort to create products that advance the boundaries of functional apparel and gear, while aligning with the brands sustainability and conservation ethics, the new collection features new and updated styles primarily made with sustainable and recycled fabrics. The falketind Collection introduces new versatile styles and updates to products built to support adventurers in a variety of weather conditions all year-round. The skibotn Collection, built for freeride-mountain bikers who thrive in steep and rugged terrain, blends highly functional designs with a contemporary aesthetic.

falketind thermo60 Hood($239): The falketind thermo60 Hood provides a great combination of light weight, packability, and insulation, and has a versatile design that works for all activities. The 100% recycled ripstop 20D nylon face fabric has PFC free DWR and ensures that light rain won’t be standing in between you and your adventures. The 3-layer construction of the recycled Pinecco insulation allows the jacket to be compressible and moisture wicking features that provides insulation even when wet. Other features include stretchy cuffs, mid-body external pockets, an inner pocket, articulated sleeves, adjustable hem and a warm hood with one hand adjustment.

falketind Octa Jacket($199): The soft falketind Octa Jacket is an all-year insulation piece offering low weight and great breathability. With its sleek and functional design, it can be worn alone or in combination with an outer layer during all seasons. The Octa is designed with recycled Pertex face fabric, for comfortable stretch, wind resistance and water repellency, and is fleece lined for added insulation. Other details include a warm and weather protective collar, mid-body external pockets, and elastic hem adjustment.

skibotn Collection

Surrounded by great mountains, the little village of Skibotn remains somewhat of a hidden gem for mountain bikers. This unrefined freeride paradise was our main inspiration when creating a whole new collection for freeride mountain biking designed for rugged and steep surroundings. The collection consists of durable and highly functional products made of find merino wool, recycled polyester, flexible flex1 and innovative denim.

skibotn Crew Neck($159): The skibotn Crew Neck is a quick drying and durable crew neck for enduro style mountain biking. It has the look and appearance of a classic crew sweater but offers functional features customized for biking. Designed with a blend of wool and recycled polyester, the Crew Neck provides great temperature regulation, quick drying properties and flexibility for optimal comfort. The design includes two zippered lower back pockets for storage and quick access. Other features include articulated elbows with reinforced patches for extra durability and stretchy cuffs with thumb holes.

skibotn wool 3/4-shirt($89): The skibotn wool 3/4-shirt, designed for enduro mountain biking, is made from a functional RWS merino wool / recycled polyester mix. This combines the thermal and odor regulating properties of wool with synthetics’ great moisture wicking technology and durability. Other features include a longer cut in the back, UV-protection, space for back protection, a zippered chest pocket and a wipe patch on the bottom hem for sunglasses.
