Oboz Names Butte Trailblazer Hallie Zolynski A Local Hero

Zolynski one of six trailblazers recognized for positively impacting their local community.

Bozeman, Mont., (March 13, 2024)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Oboz, the True to the Trail footwear brand, has named Hallie Zolynski of Butte, MT, as one of its six Local Heroes of the year. Zolynski is a wilderness ranger in the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness and an outdoors educator, who has inspired countless others to enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly.

“Hallie is an amazing trailblazer with an infectious personality who has encouraged and empowered others to get outdoors by example and through education programs,” said Abigail Cook, Oboz Footwear Brand and ESG. “It is also fitting that we recognize Hallie this month as we celebrate women who inspire others to blaze their own trail.”

Late last fall, Oboz put out a call for nominations for Local Heroes. Six nominees were selected and Oboz will announce one every other month throughout the year. Along with being featured on Obozfootwear.com, each Local Hero receives four pairs of Oboz footwear of their choice.

Zolynski was nominated by her partner Jason Leslie.

Along with being her wilderness ranger work, Zolynski has worked with and trained multiple search and rescue operations and lead several outdoor retreats and clinics for women. Zolynski founded Beyond the Backcountry in 2021, which provides affordable educational instruction and customized outdoor services for novices to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

“When I started out, I didn’t have money, and I couldn’t afford to take the really cool guided courses that people were taking,” said Zolynski. “With Beyond the Backcountry I’m teaching people who just want to get out there and make it affordable so they can get the training they need to do so safely.”
