Oboz sets new standard in rugged hikers with the Bridger Ridge GTX
March 17, 2025

Bozeman, Mont. (March 17, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ — Oboz Footwear has expanded its beloved Bridger collection with the new Bridger Ridge GTX, a durably waterproof and rugged hiking boot for spring 2025. Built for long treks, rugged trails and heavy packs, the Bridger Ridge GTX is Oboz’ sturdiest boot to date featuring a wealth of features, including GORE-TEX waterproof breathable technology, that will provide superior on-trail stability and protection.
“The Bridger Ridge GTX is our new benchmark for rugged trail boots – it’s designed for big days and bigger packs,” said Dan Wehunt, Oboz Footwear Director of Product Management & Design. “Given all that, it still feels light on the foot and provides a comfortable ride mile after mile, regardless of the terrain and weather.”
The Bridger Ridge GTX features a GORE-TEX PFAS-Free* ePE membrane, which carries the GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY promise. Along with being waterproof and highly breathable, the GORE-TEX membrane is completely windproof and keeps dust and dirt out, providing additional protection in exposed areas.
The Bridger Ridge GTX upper features premium, full-grain, nubuck leather, sourced from a Leather Working Group Gold Certified tannery, that provides durability and protection. Wrapping around the heel and toe areas are 3D molded TPU caps which provide additional durability and protection, while the heel cap reaches up towards the collar for additional stability and ankle protection. In the transitional zone between the lower portion of the upper and collar the nubuck leather is replaced with a durable and flexible textile that allows for unrestricted movement especially when climbing uphill as well as improved breathability. The same material is employed in the mid flex point of the tongue.
The collar of the Bridger Ridge GTX stands at 6.5 inches high and features a unique memory foam blend that adapts perfectly to the wearer providing exceptional comfort. The same foam is also used in the heel area inside the boot to lock in the heel and in turn provide additional support.
The midsole is made from Oboz proprietary KINERTIA+ EVA, with 10% bio-based sugarcane, and adapts to varying terrain and provides a high level of energy return along with a smooth ride. Between the midsole and outsole is a 3D molded TPU Trail Chassis that adds torsional stability, while also providing underfoot protection. The Trail Tread™ rubber outsole provides superior slip resistance, long lasting durability, and enhanced grip with its 5mm multidirectional lug pattern.
The Bridger Ridge GTX also includes the Oboz Rugged Trail Insole. This insole was specifically designed for the on-trail demands of long treks and backpacking excursions. It features closed cell PU that provides long lasting and more durable cushioning and support for superior comfort over variable and rugged terrain.
The Bridger Ridge will be available in early March 2025 and is offered in men’s and women’s styles.
