OIA’s 2nd Annual Skip Yowell Future Leadership Academy Now Accepting Entries

Outdoor Industry Association Prepares and Unites the Industry’s Most Promising Leaders for the Future

(Boulder, CO) – Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), the leading trade association in the outdoor space, is accepting applications for the Skip Yowell Future Leadership Academy. Between September 20^th and October 28^th, the next generation of outdoor industry game changers, and those working alongside a stellar future leader, are encouraged to submit an application explaining why they should be considered.

Future Leadership Academy provides the best and brightest with the opportunity to learn the specific leadership skills necessary for success in the outdoor industry. Via a series of course mediums, participants will have access to current leaders as well as the unique experience that each participant brings to the program.

“As we look at how to best prepare the next generation of decision-makers, we recognize the need to provide useful tools, along with a tight network of support and information that will ensure our industry is in good hands,” said Amy Roberts, Outdoor Industry Association.

Offering resources for rising stars is an area of particular focus of the outdoor industry.  What started as a grassroots movement in the 1960s and 1970s has grown to a six billion dollar industry. Because OIA represents all interests within the outdoor community, the organization is uniquely able to connect the dots between today’s millennials and current company heads.

“One of our responsibilities is to ensure that brands connect to the core values set forth by the pioneers, while charting a course into the future” said Stasia Raines, Director of Future Leadership Academy. “We hope that both entrants and their employers recognize the importance and benefit of the Skip Yowell Future Leadership Academy.”
