SEATTLE, Wash. (October 21, 2021) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Outdoor Research (OR), the Seattle-based outdoor and tactical apparel manufacturer, has promoted Liz Wilson to its Senior Vice President of Global Product Creation. Wilson, who has worked for the brand for four years, is tasked with leading the Product Creation team and product development process from concept to consumer, including: product and technology innovation, sourcing, materials, design, merchandising, and quality control.
Wilson brings more than 20 years of global expertise in the active and outdoor apparel space to her new role. She will lead the full, cross-functional go-to-market process for the brand, while working to create an environment of collaboration and improved communication between all of OR’s internal departments and external stakeholders.
“Liz has been a valuable member of our Product Creation team since 2018. Her new role is really an evolution of the responsibilities she has taken on over the last four years,” explains Roger Barton, president of Outdoor Research . “Liz brings passion for products, a deep knowledge of the product development process, and strong understanding of what drives consumer brand loyalty to her new position at Outdoor Research.”
Wilson joined Outdoor Research in 2018 from Royal Robbins, where she was vice president of product, and helped re-imagine the Royal Robbins collection with a focus on bringing innovation and fresh style to the travel market. Prior to that, she worked as the global director of outdoor apparel at The North Face, and held several product merchandising roles at Nike.
Aside from product, Liz’s passions include mentorship and stewardship. She has been a board member at the Wilderness Land Trust since 2012, and has helped secure and preserve more than 50,000 acres of wilderness. Liz has also given back to the industry through the Camber Executive Mentorship program, where she has guided six young leaders through a year-long program that boosts leadership, confidence, and career acceleration.
