Peak 7 Adventures to Hold First Annual Fundraiser

October 20, 2015

Seattle fundraiser will help provide life-changing outdoor experiences to under-resourced youth

SEATTLE – Oct. 15, 2015 – Washington-based non-profit outdoor experience provider Peak 7 Adventures is holding its first annual fundraiser Wednesday, October 21 in Seattle. Called “Base Camp,” funds raised during the event will help Peak 7 provide under-resourced youth backpacking, climbing and rafting trips.

“We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience outdoor adventures,” said Ryan Kerrigan, executive director of Peak 7. “New experiences in the outdoors challenge and encourage kids to grow and reach beyond their own perceived potential.”

With the support of TravelChair, Marmot, MSL Group, Mollydooker Wines, and Allevin Creative, the Base Camp fundraiser is being held 6-8 p.m. at The Foundry by Herban Feast on 4130 1st Avenue South in Seattle.

During the event, attendees will enjoy a variety of appetizers and drinks, participate in a live auction, and sit comfortably in camp chairs while listening to inspiring testimonials from kids who have participated in past Peak 7 trips.

Each $125.00 raised at the event is equivalent to a Peak 7 three-day backpacking trip. Items to be auctioned include TravelChair Peak 7 custom logoed camp chairs, Marmot clothing, Seattle Aquarium tickets, winery packages, a trip to Bali, and a Necky women’s kayak to name a few.

For those who cannot attend the event, but would like to make a donation to Peak 7, go to www.peak7.org. Also, on the day of the event, a 20 percent off coupon will be available on TravelChair.com with 50 percent of the sale proceeds donated to Peak 7.

“I’m sure many of us look back on the first time they went camping or hiking and remember how fun it was seeing a whole new world, and hopefully it was with the enthusiasm and excitement that comes with being a kid,” said Daniel Roso, vice president of family-owned TravelChair. “I can. We wholeheartedly believe in Peak 7’s mission of helping kids gain valuable life skills, build confidence and environmental awareness through being outside, and are proud to support them in their efforts.”
Established in 2006 in Spokane, Washington, Peak 7 has provided 20,000 trips to under-resourced youth year-to-date. The organization expects to serve 3,500 youth in the Seattle, Spokane, and central Oregon areas in 2016.

To attend the event, please RSVP to Julia Horn at Julia.Horn@peak7.org, and for more information about Peak 7 Adventures visit www.peak7.org.
