Apparel Manufacturer Donates to The Conservation Alliance and Deschutes Land Trust
BEND, Ore. – March 27, 2018 – Quickfeat International, an apparel manufacturer, announced today that it has made significant contributions to both The Conservation Alliance and the Deschutes Land Trust (DLT) as part of the company’s initiative to give back to organizations with strong environmental and social missions.
The Conservation Alliance’s mission is to engage businesses to fund and partner with organizations to protect wild places for their habitat and recreation values. Since 2009, Quickfeat has contributed a total of $65,000 to help support this mission.
“Quickfeat is a solid member of The Conservation Alliance, joining with their peers in the outdoor industry to ensure that special places are saved for future generations of people and wildlife,” said John Sterling, Executive Director of The Conservation Alliance. “Quickfeat is that rare manufacturer that understands the value of participating in the broader outdoor community’s efforts to protect our wild landscapes.”
In addition, Quickfeat has contributed $9,250 to the Deschutes Land Trust since 2008. Willard, who currently sits on the board as President, feels strongly about the DLT’s mission to conserve and care for more than 8,770 acres in Central Oregon for today, tomorrow and for generations to come.
“Our work is all about protecting and restoring critical wildlife habitat in Oregon’s rugged, but rapidly developing Deschutes River Basin. It’s truly encouraging to have such strong support from an outdoor industry leader like Quickfeat, as this kind of leadership is what’s needed to face the challenges of the future,” commented Brad Chalfant, Deschutes Land Trust Executive Director.
Glenn Willard, Managing Partner of Quickfeat, explains why making contributions to organizations like The Conservation Alliance and the Deschutes Land Trust is so important to him. “I was very lucky at a young age to have parents that encouraged me to volunteer at the local Audubon Society, which was right down the road from home, and to participate in any outdoor outing that came my way. These early experiences inspired me to continue doing what we can to preserve these wonderful outdoor places for current and future generations.”
