Film Tour and Bike Industry Veterans Roll Out New Film Tour

October, 2024 – Boulder, Colo. /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Launching in the spring 2024, the RITUAL Mountain Bike Film Tour is a congregation of mountain bike filmmakers and bike fanatics that will come together in an annual series of live events featuring a collection of mountain bike films from both established and independent film makers in 30 markets across North America.

Originally scheduled to premiere in 2020, the first RITUAL Film Tour was postponed because of the pandemic. Now, RITUAL founder and executive producer Chris Keig has teamed up with cycling industry veteran Geoff Shaffer to reimagine the tour. As the owner of the Fly Fishing Film Tour and formerly of Warren Miller Entertainment, Keig has a long history working on film tours, while Shaffer spent most of his career in the bike business, and nearly 20 years at PEARL iZUMi.

RITUAL will showcase mountain bike films and weave together the industry’s best stories, epic riding adventures, amazing athletes, stellar storytelling, creative film making and beautiful cinematography in some of mountain biking’s most scenic locations.

“There is so much incredible mountain bike filmmaking created every year that captures the creativity, adventure and pure fun of riding in amazing locations,” said Keig. “We are excited to bring together a community of riders to celebrate both well-know and up-and-coming filmmakers.”

The RITUAL Tour will provide a space for mountain bikers to gather annually and share their excitement for the upcoming mountain biking season. The nationwide, live series of events will hit the trail March 2024 with screenings continuing into the summer.

“Our goal is to create a festival atmosphere with each screening and bring mountain bike riders, brands, and bike advocacy groups together in unique setting,” said Shaffer.

Submissions for the 2024 RITUAL Mountain Bike Film Tour are currently open here. RITUAL is also exploring brand partnerships and collaborations and is open to conversations with interested parties.

The 2024 FILM Tour dates will be released in early 2024.

ABOUT THE RITUAL FILM TOUR

Launched in 2020 and shut down by Covid19, RITUAL is re-launching in Spring 2024. The tour will feature a collection of films from established and independent film makers and will debut at 30 venues in 2024. Chris Keig who founded the 2020 RITUAL Tour and the Fly Fishing Film Tour, which he sold to Warren Miller Entertainment / AIM media, has partnered with Geoff Shaffer. Geoff is a long-time bike industry professional, who began his career with Schwinn and was most recently the president of PEARL IZUMi, where he worked for 19 years in several roles in brand marketing, sales and digital.
