Skida and The Salmon Sisters Release Ocean-Inspired Collection
August 1, 2018
Limited edition “Red Fish, Blue Fish” products available now
Burlington, VT — Skida, a Vermont-based and ski-inspired headwear and accessories brand, announced the release of a collaborative collection with Salmon Sisters, an Alaska-based and ocean-inspired clothing brand. The nine-piece Red Fish, Blue Fish Collection honors life on the water with a classically colorful Skida design to keep customers warm during cold days out on the boat or the snow.
“I’ve been an admirer of the Salmon Sisters since we were in college in Vermont. Both of us were creating our own brands from our own experiences, whether on the water or on snow,” said Skida founder Corinne Prevot. “We’ve been collaborating with the Salmon Sisters for a couple of years now, and I love that each brand shares inspiration from their respective environments. We’re excited to introduce our beloved Fishy Fish design in new exclusive colorways that we designed together, and to continue to build on the Vermont/Alaska connection.”
The Red Fish, Blue Fish collection features the Nordic Headband, Tour, Kids Alpine Hat and Neckwarmer in the Red Fish pattern, as well as the Alpine Hat, Headband, Nordic Headband, Tour, and Alpine Neckwarmer in the Blue Fish Pattern. All nine products feature Skida’s Brushed Thermal Poly-Spandex (92% polyester and 8% spandex) fabric with moisture management and anti-microbial technology. The accessories are available at the Skida and Salmon Sisters websites as well as select retail stores while supplies last.
“We have worn Skida hats and headbands for years while fishing in Alaska and have seen so many other women on boats looking beautiful in them, too,” said Salmon Sisters Co-Founder Emma Laukitis. “We thought it would be special to make something just for them—to celebrate their lifestyle on the water—and we’re so proud to partner with another female-run small business. It’s a colorful, bold design that will keep your hair back in the wind and waves, your skin protected from summer sun, and your ears warm on chilly days.”
With every direct purchase of a Skida Red Fish, Blue Fish Collection item, customers also have the chance to give back in two ways. Every item sold on the Salmon Sisters website will provide one can of wild salmon to the Food Bank of Alaska. Every purchase on the Skida website with a “Plus One” promo code will provide a hat to a patient in need at a partnering cancer center.
