(BOULDER, CO – October 18, 2022)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Sweet Protection, the industry leader in high-performance helmets, goggles and technical clothing, announced today that it has partnered with acclaimed Swedish freestyle skier and Olympic medalist Jesper Tjäder for a limited edition release of its Looper Mips Helmet and Boondock RIG Reflect Goggles, available online and at select retailers on October 18.
Both the helmet and the goggles are branded with both Tjäder’s signature and the icon of a loop, a nod to his iconic completion of the world’s first Rail Loop trick in 2017 that cemented him as one of the most fearless freeksiers in the world. Tjäder also won a bronze medal while representing Sweden in the slopestyle event during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, and in 2022 he set a Guinness World Record for the longest rail slide on skis at 162 meters.
Looper Mips Helmet x Jesper Tjäder is Sweet Protection’s progressive helmet providing extensive performance in a clean and modern package, made as the perfect alternative for the skiers and snowboarders juggling between the park and the backcountry. The Looper Mips helmet packs a lot of power with its in-mold Impact Shields, extensive venting and audio- ready removable ear pads, and also offers a perfect goggle fit with specialized integrated goggle vents to keep goggles fog free. It is also equipped with MIPS, the industry-leading technology that reduces rotational forces on the brain.
Sweet Protection will limit the sale of the Looper Mips Helmet x Jesper Tjäder to 555 pieces worldwide.
The Boondock RIG Reflect Goggles x Jesper Tjäder offer a semi-frameless design, giving it a very clean and modern look. Featuring Retina Illumination Grading (RIG) and new reflective technology to enhance low light conditions while simultaneously reducing eye fatigue, the Boondock design offers an unparalleled field of vision for a compact goggle. The frame is subtle in black creating a stunning transition to the purple strap with a kinetic version of the Sweet Protection logo, designed by Jesper Tjäder himself. The RIG Sapphire Lens (VLT 12%) with a cool blue tint gives the package a fresh but subtle look with a stunning accent to the black helmet. Riders can also separately purchase a clear lens for night skiing /riding.
“Both the Looper Mips Helmet and Boondock RIG Reflect Goggles were developed in close cooperation with Jesper and designed especially to reflect his wishes on how these products
should look and perform,” said Pascal Herrmann, Marketing Manager at Sweet Protection. “Jesper was never in doubt about which products to use for these clean and stylish limited edition collaborations, and we’re thrilled we had the chance to partner with someone who embodies Sweet Protection’s ideals of living out your passion and pushing your limits.”
