December 7, 2016
Norwegian helmet and apparel manufacturer invests, builds brand presence and prepares to set the standard for action sport protection in North America
Trysil, Norway (December 7, 2016) – Sweet Protection, developers of premium helmets, protective gear and technical clothing for the ski, whitewater and mountain bike markets, is appointing Verde Brand Communications as its public relations and communications agency of record.
As the Norwegian brand prepares to set the standard for quality and protection in the North American action sports market, Verde will work with them to excite and educate enthusiasts and weekend warriors across the snow sports, mountain bike and whitewater markets.
“Verde brings a deep understanding of the North American action sports market and sees the performance and uniqueness our brand offers, making them a natural choice for Sweet,” said Christian Erga, head of marketing for Sweet Protection. “With Verde’s knowledge and passion for the activities we represent, I’m certain that this is the beginning of a successful partnership.”
Launched in 2000 with a desire to make world-class protective equipment that is both lightweight and low-volume, Sweet Protection’s award-winning products have seen years of success at home in Norway and throughout Europe. By fusing high tech materials, innovative manufacturing methods and cutting-edge design with a distinctive attitude and style, the Sweet crew has continually developed class-leading equipment, including the state-of-the-art, award-winning, FIS-approved Rooster Discesa RS ski helmet that was designed in conjunction with World Cup champion ski racer Aksel Lund Svindal.
Verde will work with Sweet Protection to creatively tell the brand’s unique heritage and product stories across North America through effective media relations and integrated communications strategies.
“Sweet Protection has such a unique history of innovation, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell that story,” said Kristin Carpenter-Ogden, founder and CEO of Verde Brand Communications. “With a dedicated whitewater following already in place here in North America, we are excited to grow Sweet’s presence in the snow and bike industries.”
