SWIX Athletes Make History at 2021 Tour de Ski

January 8, 2021

HAVERHILL, Mass. — SWIX athletes Jessie Diggins and Rosie Brennan have made history, finishing first and second in two FIS World Cup Cross-Country races during the third and fourth stages of the 2021 Tour de Ski. Diggins and Brennan are the first women to take gold and silver in the same World Cup race and just the second American pair of athletes to do so, the first being Bill Koch and Dan Simoneau in 1981.

“We’re so proud of our athlete’s accomplishments in the Tour,” SWIX US President Steve Poulin proclaims. “They’ve clearly put in the work this season and we’re so happy to see they’re finding the success they deserve.”

Sunday’s third stage was a 10k Pursuit where Diggins and Brennan overtook the Tour’s leaders to finish atop the podium and Tuesday’s fourth stage was a 10km skate race for the women. Heading into stage five on Wednesday Diggins is the current Tour de Ski leader while Brennan holds the lead in the season’s overall Cross-Country World Cup standings.

Both athletes are using SWIX Triac 4.0 Aero poles during this season’s World Cup. The Triac 4.0 Aero is the most recent evolution in Nordic racing poles. The pole features a stiffness rating of 21 millimeters and has a shaft weight of 56 grams per meter. A complete 155cm pole, including grip and basket, weights only 136 grams.

The Swix Triac 4.0 Aero comes with a patented TBS interchangeable basket system (TRIAC BASKET SYSTEM) with five different basket options for all snow conditions. In addition, the Aero has an interchangeable custom TCS strap system (Triac Connection System), offering 5 strap options.
