Tepui Tents Puts Rooftop Tent Category on the Map with Six Awards at 2016 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (August 15, 2016) — In only its second year as an exhibitor at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (ORSM), Tepui Tents, a leading innovator in rooftop tents and shelters, collected six editorial awards and accolades from major media outlets, including Popular Mechanics, Outside, Gear Junkie, Men’s Journal, The Manual and Elevation Outdoors.

Each year, more than one thousand of the industry’s leading outdoor and active lifestyle brands gather at Summer Market to introduce the latest outdoor gear and apparel. Attending media recognize a small selection of the most innovative, disruptive products at the event.

Tepui Tents received awards for its two new tents that debuted at the Summer Market: White Lightning, a rack-ready, hard shell tent and the Baja Series, which introduced the rooftop tent category’s first interchangeable canopy system. The MSRP and availability for the Baja series is to-be-determined. The White Lightning is set to deliver to the marketplace late fall at $3,800 MSRP.

The Santa Cruz-based brand was founded in 2010 and quickly gained traction in the overland and off-road markets. Since then, Tepui has led the category’s growth in adjacent outdoor markets, among mountain bikers, climbers, surfers and weekend campers who are opting for the comfort, portability and convenience afforded by a rooftop tent.

Earlier this year, Tepui Tents became the first rooftop tent available from REI, the national outdoor specialty retailer and consumer co-op. Following a successful sales trial, REI is expanding its distribution fall 2016 and spring 2017.
