Travelon® hosts Adaptive Adventures® Freedom Through Mobility Charitable Event

Travelon and the Godshaw family partnered with Adaptive Adventures® by sponsoring a Platform Tennis Charitable Event and matching all donations to help veterans, other wheel-chair-bound and disabled athletes.

On September 14^th, Travelon and other Chicagoland residents mixed it up with the Adaptive Adventures organization veterans and other wheel-chair-bound athletes for an exciting evening of platform tennis, social mingling and charitable giving. The evening included an exhibition played by four top-ranked platform tennis players.

Participants made donations in the sum of $22,500 to Adaptive Adventures whose mission is to provide progressive outdoor sports opportunities to improve quality of life for children, adults and veterans with physical disabilities and their families. Travelon’s Godshaw family matched those contributions with another $22,500. The grand total of $45,000 will be going toward providing skiing, cycling, kayaking, rock climbing even waterskiing and wakeboarding programs just to name a few.

The event took place at the Wilmette Platform Tennis Club and Club House. Complete with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres the evening was rewarding in the time and laughter shared between community members and the amazing athletes from Adaptive Adventures, a 501©(3) organization.
