TREW Gear Brings “TREW To You” Film Project to Truckee, CA

Tahoe, CA /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – TREW Gear is thrilled to announce the Tahoe, CA screening of TREW To You on Tuesday, November 5th, at the Tahoe Art Haus and Cinema. This unique film contest celebrates skiing and snowboarding communities across North America and brings their stories to life.

TREW To You invited ten talented teams from diverse regions to compete for a grand prize of $15,000. Each team was tasked with creating a film showcasing their local snow community and unique take on the sport. With audience voting deciding the winners, every screening is an opportunity to come together and generate local support.

The Tahoe entry was created by filmmakers Ryan and Jenna McDowell. Entitled “Old Dog,” their film shows Ryan, a lifelong snowboarder, learning to ski in 30 days. Can he ski the legendary cliffs of Palisades or will the challenging terrain be too steep? Ryan and Jenna’s self-deprecating humor, beautiful cinematography, and fun edits stand out in this year’s competition.

“Tahoe is a town that embodies the spirit of mountain adventure and deep community ties,” said Jess Joyner, TREW’s Community Manager. “We’re excited to showcase these films at Tahoe Art Haus and celebrate the passion that fuels these local snowboarding and skiing stories.”

There will be short films from 10 powerhouse teams of skiers and snowboarders, all competing for a Grand Prize of $15k! May your favorite film win! Come watch the films, get hyped for winter, and support the local Truckee Crew Team Old Dog in-person at Tahoe Art Haus and Cinema on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:30pm!
