Ultimate Direction Brings It All with New Athlete-Inspired Apparel Collection
July 7, 2022
Schlarb-designed apparel collection crafted for gear storage and durability in the mountains
BOULDER – July 7, 2022/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – To celebrate decades of supporting the world’s best athletes in the running and fastpacking space, Ultimate Direction is launching a second Signature Athlete Apparel Collection this July designed by athletes, for athletes. The Jason Schlarb Collection, a 2-piece apparel line, is designed and tested by coach, mountain adventurer, and ultrarunner, Jason Schlarb.
Ultimate Direction’s design team worked closely with Schlarb to prototype his quintessential running kit without stops, constraints, or limits to what was possible and then tested them in the toughest conditions until it was perfected. The collection includes the Jason Schlarb Merino Tee and Jason Schlarb Short, and is available in men’s specific sizing from S-XL. Boasting key attributes of durability, moisture-wicking technology, and freedom of motion on the trail, each product offers an anti-pilling, chafe-free fit for even the longest adventures in the mountains.
“The opportunity to create next-level functional apparel with UD designers is what UD is all about: for athletes, by athletes. The Jason Schlarb Short carries all my gear: water, nutrition, phone, jacket, and poles like no other shorts can and stays put, making my running more efficient,” shared Jason Schlarb, Ultimate Direction athlete and collection inspiration. “The Jason Schlarb Shirt is made with a blend of responsibly-sourced Merino wool, nature’s most advanced fiber, and other technical materials to bring the athlete the best shirt for adventuring in all conditions and elements. I love how it doesn’t feel sticky or greasy on my skin and uses sustainably-sourced ingredients.”
The Jason Schlarb Merino Tee uses 50% responsibly-sourced and cruelty-free Merino wool and 50% Sorona® fabric for temperature control, moisture regulation, and anti-odor management. The Jason Schlarb Short boasts a 360-degree waistband for gear storage space, trekking pole holders, and a Body Bottle 500™ water bottle, in addition to its soft interior brief and partial side split for increased mobility.
“Collaborating with Jason is really fun. He is solutions-oriented in his approach to designing products- he wants to solve for his desire to carry poles without a pack as well as to be able to carry gels and other items in his short’s waistband without bounce,” shared Kinoka Ogsbury, Director of Merchandising. “He is passionate about fabrics and fit, and the Merino tee with bonded seams was his vision from start to finish.”
