Hear what top Race Directors are saying about the US Trail Running Conference:
“I very much enjoy meeting and talking with other race directors and vendors each year at the US Trail Running Conference. Since Western States is an established race it would be easy to just continue to do what has worked. While I think we have a lot to offer to new races, it also behooves WS to see what other race directors are doing. While this year I won’t be attending in person, I look forward to participating virtually.” Craig Thornely, RD, Western States Endurance Run
“The Conference is a wealth of knowledge for the full spectrum of RDs: from those who put on a small “mom & pop” trail race to those who orchestrate the largest multi-day trail running events. Whatever you think you know, you will learn more from the insights and ideas of the speakers, panelists and your peers. I would say, hands down, this conference is the most important gathering of trail running organizers I have ever attended. If you would like to take your skill set to the next level, join us at the US Trail Running Conference!” Peter Maksimow, RD, Barr Trail Mountain Race
“The US Trail Running Conference never disappoints as it drills down into relevant and significant issues that impact all trail run directors, large and small. The need for critical decision making as we evolve as a running community, within diverse communities, is needed now more than ever and the learning from each other that takes place from around the country is priceless.” Paulette Odenthal, RRCA Minnesota State Rep., RD, Run the Ritter
“The US Trail Running Conference has been a ridiculously valuable resource for me and my race management business. There are networking opportunities with industry experts from all corners of the US and beyond. The Conference has allowed me to hear advice, new ideas and share information that is far beyond what I have access to on my local or regional level. There’s a lot of brain power at the conference, it’s fun and educational to be a part of it all!” Paul Gigliotti, Owner / Operator, Pirate Perry Events, Owner / Operator, GIG Graphics
Conference trail runner day includes sessions on how to become a climate action warrior, diversity on the trails, preserving trail access, coach’s corner on healthy running, nutrition & hydration, a women’s panel, and guest athletes. An expo will also include trail gear, products, nutrition, training services, as well as special offers and discounts for selected items.
Event Director Terry Chiplin said, “We are very excited to announce this new program to reward Race Directors, and to give them an opportunity to attend this inspiring and educational event. We have heard that runners are also seeking engagement in new opportunities and ideas in the current COVID environment, and expect this program to expand the reach of the Conference as well as create a new model for future growth of the event. We look forward to a highly successful Conference working closely with our partners at Experience Fayetteville and ATRA, utilizing the technology benefits of the Socio app.”
