Wild Rye Breaks Into Winter Mid-Layers Introducing a Synthetic Down Collection and Cold Weather Technical Pant

September 24, 2024

Women-led Wild Rye continues to expand its performance and lifestyle offerings, crafted with sustainable, PFAS-free fabrics and a seasonal color and graphics refresh

Sun Valley, ID (September 24, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Wild Rye, the premiere active lifestyle apparel brand designed to empower women in the outdoors and beyond, launches its fall-winter 2024-25 collection, unveiling the brand’s first-ever synthetic down pieces, the Payette Collection, and a new technical pant for cold weather adventures, the Freyah Softshell. Prioritizing functional, casual and versatile styles, Wild Rye adds to its growing lifestyle collection, introducing a cozy crewneck sweatshirt and updated fit for the popular technical overalls. With every product Wild Rye makes, the brand is committed to reducing environmental impact, while never compromising on fit, performance, or style.

“Wild Rye originally made its name with our women’s mountain bike clothing but we have been making technical products for snowsports since the brand’s inception, starting with the merino wool baselayer collection in our first year,” said Cassie Abel, Wild Rye CEO and Founder. “The Payette line represents true progress towards a full year-round offering for our community of adventurous women and we couldn’t be more thrilled to deliver on that this fall. So many of our loyal Wild Rye customers are also skiers and riders, and we see this launch as a way to support those individuals all while bringing new women into the fold who are struggling to find snow apparel that both fits and performs at the highest standard.”

Your Insulated Secret Weapon | The Payette Puffer Collection

The new Payette Collection was crafted to keep you warm whether conquering peaks or walking the dog. The collection maintains heat when wet, while remaining lightweight and packable for any cold weather adventure or daily winter life. The line includes a sleek, hooded full-zip Payette Jacket (sizes XS–XL, MSRP: $209) and a half-zip Payette Pullover (sizes XS–XL, MSRP: $189), designed with a boxy, modern silhouette for those seeking a stylized approach to insulation. These tops pair cohesively with the Payette Pant (sizes XS–XL, MSRP: $159), equally perfect for exploring the alpine and lounging in the yurt, with a relaxed fit, useful pockets, and a hem cord lock for ankle adjustability. Each piece was sustainably made with 100-percent post-consumer recycled synthetic materials and water resistant coating.

Flattering and Technical as Hell | Softshell Freyah Pant

With the same high-waisted, flattering fit as the beloved Freyah mountain bike pants, this new iteration was designed to conquer any active, cold-weather endeavor. The Softshell Freyah incorporates a cozy, bonded interior brush backing, and a splash, mud, and rain resistant exterior. 4-way stretch fabric, and a gusseted crotch provide ultimate flexibility, while large zippered side pockets and calf cuffs afford critical on-trail convenience (sizes 0–18, MSRP: $225).

Overalls Get A Makeover | Meet The Emmett

Crafted with the same stretchy, breathable, durable eco-canvas fabric as the previous Elorie style, the new Emmett Overalls offer a more contemporary fit with a relaxed silhouette and straight cut leg openings. The straps and pockets have also been updated, putting a fashionable twist on a Wild Rye favorite (sizes 0–18, MSRP: $159).

Your New Coffee Shop Companion | Camas Crew

Rounding out the lifestyle collection with a loose, contemporary fit, the Camas Crew effortlessly pairs with every pair of jeans or leggings in the closet. The organic cotton knit softens with wear overtime, turning a reliable comfort piece into a wardrobe necessity (sizes XS–XXXL, MSRP: $79).

Alongside the brand’s dedication to bomb-proof durability, timeless style, and achieving perfect fit for all women, Wild Rye is equally committed to making a positive impact with its manufacturing process. Wild Rye products are PFAS-free, and have been for several years. Through carefully selecting sustainable materials, Wild Rye uses recycled polyester and nylon to reduce carbon emissions, organic cotton and tencel, both natural fibers and renewable resources, and Bio Nylon fabric to replace fossil fuels used to make virgin Nylon with renewable plant oils.

The FW24 collection boasts fresh new prints and hand-drawn patterns for the flagship Freda shorts, Freyah pant, Eleanor chammies, merino baselayer collection, Danner high-pile fleece pullover and jogger, and accessories.

The full collection is now available for purchase on the Wild Rye website.
