March 14, 2022
Vail Winter Mountain Games
/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – This past week at the Vail Winter Mountain Games, USA Skimo held the 2022 US Skimo National Championships for the Senior, U23 and Masters divisions. Amid the myriad of events that were held at the Games, the skimo events were a big success. Some observed that the Sprint event was the most well attended skimo race in the US ever, with live music and cheering crowds. National Champions were crowned, and fun was had by many racers and spectators. A full list of USA Skimo National Champions are shown below.
Full results for all races in all age divisions can be found on the Winter Mountain Games website.
The national championships for the U20 and younger age divisions will be held at the Wasatch Powder Keg March 19-20, 2022, which will include individual and sprint races.
The growth of the sport in the US is in part a result of the hard work of many dedicated volunteers who made the races possible this weekend. As we look forward to 2026 and the Olympic Winter Games the hope is that racers will continue to enjoy the sport and that USA Skimo can continue to bring more high quality races to the public. In addition, partners like the Vail Valley Foundation are essential to the increased growth of skimo in the US.
