Oboz and Skida collaborate on a VerMontana Collection

Montana Guts meets Vermont Grit in a collection of footwear and accessories.
Bozeman, Mont (October 12, 2023) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Oboz Footwear, the True to the Trail® outdoor footwear company headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, has partnered with Skida, a Burlington, Vermont-based headwear and accessories brand, to create a collection of outdoor accessories and footwear made for long adventure-recover-chill-repeat winter days. The collection, available now, features an original Skida design inspired by the natural majesty of their respective states.
The Oboz x Skida collection includes the Oboz Whakatā Puffy insulated moc in low and mid-heights, and Skida’s Alpine Hat, Snow Tour, and Brim Hat. The collection is offered in two colorways – Fields and Night – that imagines Montana’s state flower, Bitterroot, in Skida’s signature style woven amongst Vermont species, like trillium, violets, and asters, for a whimsical floral design.
“We saw the Whakatā Puffy as a perfect canvas for a collaboration and Skida was an obvious partner,” said Amy Beck, President of Oboz Footwear. “Beyond Skida’s wonderful designs, our companies share common values and a passion for the outdoors.”
Oboz and Skida are founded on the principle of outdoor grit coupled with a “grab your friends and go” attitude and believe that the same trail can be walked a hundred times, but can feel different with a fresh perspective.
“It is a dream to bring a Skida print to a whole new medium: shoes!” said Skida founder Corinne Prevot. “And not just any shoe, one that is designed for the places where I feel the most joy — tending to a wood stove in a cabin in the mountains, sharing a celebratory beverage in the parking lot after a long day on snow, or heading out to the woodpile for an armful of fuel for the fire.”
Since its founding in 2008, Skida has been filling lift lines and ski races with colorful, technical headwear and neckwear styles. Over the last 16 years, their product assortment has grown to include year-round accessories for outdoor adventures while maintaining their commitment to local production and a fresh perspective.
Whakatā (fah-cah-TAAH) is Māori for “to catch breath, rest, have a break”. The Whakatā Puffy is a three-season après-activity shoe that is perfect for hut trips, après ski gatherings, around the house, and more. It features Freeze Guard insulation made with 100% post-consumer recycled polyester and a sculpted footbed inspired by the Oboz O FIT Insole made with bio-based EVA. The Oboz x Skida mid is offered in Fields and the low in Night. Both models retail for $110.
The Skida accessories in the collection feature three of the brand’s most popular styles. The Skida Alpine Hat ($38) is fully lined with a mid-weight fleece that wicks moisture, cuts the wind, and keeps you warm on colder days. The Snow Tour ($24) is made with Brushed Thermal fabric that is soft on one side and bold on the other for optimal comfort. Designed as a neck gaiter the tubular neck wear can be worn as a head band or in a myriad of different ways. The Brim Hat ($48) is one of Skida’s newest products and has quickly become a fan favorite due to their superior comfort, lightweight design, and packability.
The limited-edition collection is available online at Obozfootwear.com and www.skida.com and at select Oboz and Skida retailers.
