Oboz Announces 2024 Oboz Trail Experience Schedule

Bozeman, Mont., (January 10, 2024)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Oboz is launching its fourth year of the Oboz Trail Experience in 2024, with 8 experiences scheduled across the US and Canada with plans to add more throughout the year. The Oboz Trail Experience (OTE) is a free program where over a course of one month, participants complete hikes on local trails for chances to win prizes from Oboz, the local Oboz retail partner, and local and national partners, while supporting a local trail organization.

“These month-long events allow people to hike, walk, and run at their own pace while providing a platform for engagement with local businesses, trail organizations, and each other,” said Esther du Crocq, Retail + Education Lead at Oboz Footwear. “The program has grown every year, with past participants and new attendees continuing to show up at every event. Additionally, more Oboz’s retail partners are wanting to host them across the US, Canada, and even some international locations.”

The Oboz Trail Experience is designed for hiking, walking, running, and people using mobility assistive devices. It was created to help people re-discover their favorite trails, learn about new or lesser-known trails, push their limits, and recreate locally while competing against local legends, their peers, or themselves. For OTE’s that take place in winter months nordic skiing and snowshoeing are also included among the activities.

Registration for each Oboz Trail Experience is free and opens the month prior to the event beginning. Registration is currently open for the first events of the year in Bozeman, MT and Lake Tahoe/Truckee, CA.

After registering, participants must track their hikes on a GPS-enabled device such as a Garmin or Suunto watch, or through a mobile phone using an app like Strava, MapMyFitness, or Sports Tracker. Each OTE includes various prescribed trails for participants to complete. Additionally, several trails are tagged as Promoted Trails which if completed, participants are awarded prizes from Oboz, the participating retailer, and/or other local organizations and businesses. Participants also have the chance to win one of five pairs of Oboz footwear during the OTE after-parties, which are typically hosted by the local retail partner.

OTE after-parties will be held upon completion of each event and will include food, beverages, and giveaways. Celebration locations and times will be posted on each OTE page.

For those without an OTE in their area, there is the Oboz Trails for Trees Challenge in April. The Trails for Trees Challenge functions in much the same way as an OTE, but it is virtual and open to anyone, anywhere. In addition, Oboz will plant a tree for every completed activity. Details on the challenge will be announced in March.
