La Sportiva First Outdoor Footwear Brand to Use GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ THERMIUM™ in Mountain Boots

January 27, 2020 (BOULDER, Colo.) – La Sportiva, makers of the world’s finest mountain footwear, today announces its lineup of Fall 2020 footwear, including the new G5 Evo, the first mountaineering boot to use GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ THERMIUM™ technology. Additionally, the brand has long utilized the spring season to debut new rock climbing shoes but with the continued explosive growth of indoor climbing globally and the discipline debuting in the Tokyo Olympics in July, the brand will debut two new rock-climbing shoes for Fall 2020.

We’re also upgrading two of our top mountaineering boots to propel our mountain boot line to the next level.”

In Mountain boots, the G5 Evo is the first of its kid to utilize GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ THERMIUM™ technology, which is ultra-thin innovative insulation that provides more insulation than much bulkier alternatives to improve insulation capabilities. The G5 Evo is a technical winter mountaineering boot oriented to ice climbing and winter mountaineering. The lightweight synthetic boot utilizes a Boa closure coupled with a zippered gaiter for a precise fit. The boot will retail for $800 in Fall 2020. The G2 Evo is a double boot designed for high altitude mountaineering and extremely cold temperatures. It excels at 6,000 meter peaks due to its 3mm Honeycomb Tech insulation carbon insole and duel Boa closures that allow the user to dial in a precise fit as needed. The G2 Evo will retail for $950 in Fall 2020.

For the rock shoe offering, the new Zenit is a versatile shoe for climbers that are ready to push their climbing to the next level. A knit upper provides a comfortable and breathable fit, while the leather footbed provides wicking comfort and performance without sacrificing performance. The shoes will be available in both men’s and women’s models and retail for $125 in Fall 2020. The Aragon is a super comfortable Italian-made climbing shoe for beginner climbers that are ready for a performance upgrade. Soft unlined uppers and a durable rubber provide comfort and longevity in a shoe that will retail for $99 in Fall 2020.

The new Jackal GTX trail running shoe will provide all-day comfort and waterproof breathability in a wider toe-box for longer runs. The Gore-Tex Invisible Fit with Gore-Flex provides a fit similar to that of a non-waterproof shoe. The 11-ounce trail running shoe will debut in Fall 2020 for $170.
