Bringing outdoor women together: Deuter partners with Wild Women’s Project
June 29, 2017
LONGMONT, Colorado – Deuter, maker of women’s specific Slim Line (SL) hiking and trekking backpacks, is proud to participate in a Wild Women’s Project Summit Trip, July 7-10 in the San Juan Mountains, near Telluride, CO.
Wild Women’s Project is a mountain retreat and leadership summit providing valuable opportunities for women in the outdoor industry to explore common ground, tackle challenges and come together in a relaxed and collaborative environment.
“Our SL line was created by a team of hardcore female hikers, climbers and mountaineers in Europe, so we know firsthand what awesome things can come when a group of tough, like-minded women put their heads together,” said Deuter Marketing Manager Becky Marcelliano. “Deuter is proud to offer women’s gear that truly is specifically tailored to needs of women – not just cleverly named and downsized with super-feminine colors.”
The shared experience in the Colorado mountains aims to provide a place for opportunities to present themselves organically and offer solutions to challenges women face in the outdoor industry. Wild Women’s Project brings together advocates, entrepreneurs and leaders in the outdoor space. The goal is to create inspiration and drive real change.
“We build bridges between women who wouldn’t normally get a chance to connect with other likeminded women in the outdoor industry,” said Wild Women’s Project founder Amanda Goad. “Because the skiers know all the other skiers, the writers know the writers, the runners know the runners, and so on, but an incredible runner may not normally have the chance to meet an amazing skier, because they’re always at all the running events, and nothing more.”
