Farm to Feet partners with Appalachian Trail Conservancy and creates AT Collection for Spring 2018
July 17, 2017
Mt. Airy, North Carolina (July 17, 2017) — Farm to Feet, makers of 100% American socks, has entered into a multi-year agreement with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC). As part of the agreement a portion of sales from its new Harpers Ferry sock will go to support the organization and its mission to preserve and manage the Appalachian Trail (A.T.), the longest hiking-only footpath in the world.
“The A.T. is a cherished resource where not only lifelong memories and outdoor passions are built, but also where socks are put to the ultimate test,” said David Petri, Farm to Feet’s VP of marketing. “The trail passes within 100 miles of our home and we hope that our support of the ATC will ensure that it will be enjoyed by generations to come.
For spring 2018 Farm to Feet is launching a new A.T. collection which includes the Damascus, Max Patch, and Harpers Ferry styles. The Damascus has become the favorite sock of day and thru-hikers due to its light weight design, targeted cushioning comfort, and durability. The Max Patch and Harpers Ferry, two new styles for spring 2018, feature the same foot design as the Damascus, but with graphic details inspired by their name sakes.
Max Patch is a popular day hike destination on the A.T. due to its proximity to Asheville and its 360 degree views. The Farm to Feet Max Patch 3/4 crew sock features an infinite loop of mountain tops around the ankle, much like the view from Max Patch’s grassy summit.
Historic Harpers Ferry, WV, sits at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers and is home to the ATC. The Harper’s Ferry hiking sock was developed in conjunction with the ATC and features the A.T. logo in the calf area.
“The Appalachian Trail has become much more than a footpath from Maine to Georgia, representing an all-American pilgrimage that attracts millions of outdoor enthusiasts from around the world,” said Tiffany Lawrence, Vice President of Membership and Development for the ATC. “The release of Farm to Feet’s Harpers Ferry design not only celebrates the home of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, but also illustrates Farm to Feet’s commitment to supporting the Trail and its wide community of hikers, volunteers and supporters. We are excited to join Farm to Feet in this new partnership.”
Farm to Feet and the ATC will launch the partnership at the 2017 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, UT, July 26-29. On July 26, they will host an AT BBQ in the Farm to Feet booth (BR315) that will feature famous Skyline Inn North Carolina barbeque and will include a giveaway of two Deuter Backpacks, filled with hiking and AT themed gear from ATC, ENO hammocks, Leki poles, Vasque footwear, Buff headwear, Farm to Feet and more.
