A Whole Lotta Public Land Is ‘Landlocked’ and Inaccessible

Landlocked public lands are pieces of land owned by all of us that are surrounded by private land. Many times, either the government or land conservancies will try to buy the private land to allow access to the public lands within. But that often can’t happen. There are nearly 16 million acres of such land like that in the US, and this short film explores the history of these lands and efforts to open access to them for the taxpayers who own those lands.
