LOS ANGELES (July 3, 2018) – Building upon the success of its lifestyle and outerwear designed for active urban consumers, adidas Outdoor, the athletic brand in the outdoors, today debuted an expanded apparel line with an updated Climb the City collection for indoor climbing reflecting the steady growth of this category. Reinforcing its global commitment to sustainability, the brand will introduce the latest Parley for the Oceans apparel using yarn made from reclaimed and recycled ocean plastic. Engineered to take consumers from the trail to the streets, the line will be on display at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market July 23-26, in Denver booth #42069-UL.
“Not only have U.S. cities seen an influx of indoor climbing gyms, but also, urban dwellers are now participating in more outdoor activities in their neighborhoods and local parks,” said Greg Thomsen, managing director, adidas Outdoor. “These consumers want their apparel to be functional and stylish blurring the lines between fashion and utility. Our spring/summer 2019 line looks great on a slog for five-city blocks, indoor climbing, or adventuring around the World. Additionally, we are building upon the very positive response to Parley for the Oceans, introducing pieces that utilize versatile design, including our first skort, with all of these pieces featuring an incredible hand feel, impressive quick dry attributes, and water wicking capabilities.”
The spring 2019 features pieces for climbing, hiking, water sports and trail running, including the men and women’s Urban Climastorm Jacket ($89), the Light Insulated Jacket ($89) and the women’s only Onsight Tee ($30). These styles are available February of 2019 at retail and online.
The Agravic Parley Tee ($30) for trail running uses adidas Climalite® with superior moisture management. Also for trail running, adidas Outdoor will introduce the Agravic 2-in-1 Skort ($89), with a lightweight, stretchy outer skirt and compressive inner tight using Climalite® and Polygiene® for anti-odor benefits.
