Cotopaxi Welcomes Two New Impact Partners; Water1st and GlobalGiving
January 30, 2024
Newest Grantees of the Cotopaxi Foundation Help Support Poverty Alleviation Mission
Salt Lake City, UT. (January 30, 2024)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Certified B Corporation™ and impact-driven adventure brand, Cotopaxi welcomes two new impact partners, Water1st, a nonprofit implementing clean water and sanitation projects for the world’s most vulnerable communities; and GlobalGiving, a nonprofit helping the Cotopaxi Foundation reach more people and drive community-led change in Ecuador.
The Cotopaxi Foundation serves as the philanthropic impact arm of the brand, providing grants to vetted nonprofits dedicated to improving standards of living for communities experiencing poverty. Cotopaxi distributes 1% of profits through the Cotopaxi Foundation, supporting partners with multi-year grants so they can create measurable and lasting impacts. Through these two new partnerships, Cotopaxi can further its mission to fight extreme poverty and move people to Do Good.
“Cotopaxi’s investment in humanitarian causes has led us to the incredible work by Water1st,” says Cotopaxi Foundation Director of Philanthropy Charlie Clark. “Their efforts empowering communities through WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) interventions change people’s lives at the core level, and their commitment to community buy-in and the long-term support of their projects is truly world-class. Essential to the survival of numerous communities around the globe, we are thrilled to add Water1st as a Cotopaxi Foundation partner.”
Cotopaxi will be supporting GlobalGiving’s work in Ecuador, empowering communities to tackle food security, workforce training, gender equity, violence prevention, and more. GlobalGiving connects other nonprofits with the donors, tools, and training they need to drive community-led change.
Water1st works with communities around the world to implement and sustain projects that integrate a clean water supply, toilets, and hygiene education. With each project, water is piped to every home, school, and clinic in the community, ending the walk for water, particularly for women and girls. Cotopaxi Foundation will be working with Water1st to fund projects in Honduras that provide piped water to rural families in need.
