Ecōths’ Commitment to Sustainability Balances Business and Goodness
December 5, 2018
Over 400,000 meals donated to the needy since 2014 with Good Sam Program
Reno, NV – Sustainability means different things to different people, but to family-owned and operated, men’s mountain lifestyle clothing brand Ecōths, it means not only committing to using sustainable fibers, but also helping people live a sustainable life. From using Fair Trade Certified® factories to donating meals through their Good Sam Program, Ecōths aims to make a difference in the world by lifting others up and protecting our planet through their sustainable business model.
Since 2014, Ecōths has donated upwards of 400,000 meals to food banks in the United States alone with their Good Sam Program. Through this program, Ecōths donates at least three meals to food banks throughout the United States and Canada for every style they sell. Additionally, beginning in Spring 2018, Ecōths partnered with Fair Trade USA and now produces 40 – 50 percent of their styles each season in Fair Trade Certified factories with sustainable and eco-friendly fibers, a significant jump within one year of the partnership.
New for Fall ’19, Ecōths is introducing masculine styles with refined grit and modern lines that are casually sophisticated. To expand their eco-story and performance collection, they are introducing recycled polyester fleece styles. Each style in the recycled polyester fleece collection has zippered or button closure pockets to keep belongings safe and in place. These items include activewear pieces like the Zayden ¼ Zip ($85), Rob Shirt-Jac ($95) and Blake Fleece Shirt ($89), and distinctive sweaters that have a sweater facing with recycled polyester fleece backing for comfort, such as the Aiden Jacket ($119) and Jason LS ($99).
In addition to these styles, Ecōths is also introducing merino wool blend sweaters for the urban rugged man. The Jake Sweater ($109) is a winter sweater with chunky ribbed cuffs, collar and waistband and three buttons at the neck allow the wearer to show off a tee or button-up shirt worn underneath. The super soft Griffin Sweater ($92) has a unique pointelle pattern under the arm for breathability and comfort when layering.
Ecōths’ goal is to be the 10 percent of a man’s closet that he wears 90 percent of the time. To reach this goal, they put a contemporary twist on the traditional button-up staples with a modern yet traditional fit, sustainable fabrications and functional details like the Handy Cloth, a microfiber cleaning cloth for phone screens, camera lens and glasses that is found in the bottom placket of every button-up style.
The organic cotton slub Ethan Shirt ($75) is the perfect weight for fall days. A dobby check pattern adds an interesting texture and includes a button down collar, optional contrast flip up cuffs and a single chest pocket. The perfect organic cotton flannel has arrived with Ecōths’ Madden Shirt ($82). A gorgeous hand feel, grey snaps with a bit of flair, dual chest pockets and a double back yoke give this flannel plenty of character for the modern outdoorsman. For those wanting to add some color to their wardrobe, the Kaden Shirt ($82) is an organic yarn-dyed button up with twisted yarns and off seam stitching on the pockets. Detailed back yoke, vintage pearl snaps, a soft, flannel-like feel and four bright colorways make this a shirt that men will want to have in every color. For those looking for something different than a plaid shirt, Ecōths introduces the Huck Shirt ($89), an organic cotton jacquard in four subtle colorways with exquisite buttons, dual chest pockets and a woven pattern throughout.
These styles and the rest of Ecōths’ Fall ’19 collection can be seen at Outdoor Retailer in Denver, November 8-11, 2018, Booth #49081-UL and WWIN in Las Vegas, February 4-7, 2018, Booth #A2212-A2214. For additional information, please contact Angie Robinson at angie@darbycommunications.com.
