Hyland’s Partners with Blue Ridge Bicycle Club

(LOS ANGELES – May 14, 2018) – With more than 600 active members, the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club (BRBC) has long been one of the most prominent riding groups in Western North Carolina. An outspoken leader in the community, the club not only organizes numerous rides and popular races, but also coordinates beginner bicycle rodeos and campaigns for bicycle-related improvements. Composed of riders of all ages and abilities, BRBC brings a considerable voice to the fight for more bike lanes, extended greenways, and improved trail maintenance. In 2013, the club raised funds for a bicycle rack for North Henderson High School, upon discovering that a student who rode his bike to school every day had nowhere safe to secure his transportation.

BRBC-sponsored riding events include its popular WNC Flyer, which attracts riders from around the region and across the country. The road race has raised more than $250,000 since the inaugural ride in 2003. Funds raised go toward initiatives promoting bicycle education and advocating for healthy living across Western North Carolina.
