KOA Renews Partnership with USA Bobsled/Skeleton Team

January 23, 2023

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS) announced today (Jan. 23) that Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) renewed its sponsorship of the team through 2026. KOA has been prominently featured on U.S. team sleds since first signing on as a sponsor 13 years ago, according to a release.

“Kampgrounds of America Inc. has been a tremendous partner of ours,” said USABS CEO Aron McGuire. “We are incredibly thankful for their continued commitment to support USA Bobsled and Skeleton athletes.”

KOA is the world’s largest system of privately-owned campgrounds and has supported USABS for over a decade, officially becoming a sponsor in 2009. Since then, KOA has become one of USABS’s most consistent presenting partners and has continued to be an excellent supporter of USABS’ mission to put its athletes first.

Over the past six decades, KOA has been at the forefront of camping innovation, firmly establishing itself as the leader in camping and outdoor hospitality. With a mission of connecting people to the outdoors and each other, the brand is a valued partner of USABS.

“We are excited to continue our long-standing relationship with USA Bobsled and Skeleton as an official sponsor,” said Toby O’Rourke, CEO and president of KOA. “Across our team of more than 500 local campgrounds and the elite athletes of bobsled and skeleton, there’s a shared passion for dedication, hard work and teamwork that fuels excellence. We’re excited to cheer on the team and be part of their success yet again.”

USABS has a tradition of hosting a meet-and-greet at the Lake Placid/Whiteface KOA Holiday during off-season training camps, where team members have the opportunity to share their stories and sports with campers from all over the world. USABS athletes and team members look forward to connecting with more KOA campers in the lead-up to 2026.

“We are grateful for Kampgrounds of America, Inc.’s continued support and for the opportunity to connect with their campers as we take them on this journey with us,” McGuire said. “We look forward to another exciting four years leading up to 2026.”
