LEKI and Hestra Team Up to Launch Innovative Trigger Glove Collection

November 7, 2024

The collection of Hestra-designed gloves feature LEKI’s Trigger security system, and will debut this winter in time for the 2024-25 ski season

BUFFALO, NY (November 7, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – LEKI, a leader in innovative skiing, trekking and trail running poles and gloves, is proud to announce its latest collaboration with Hestra, a leading Sweden-born glove manufacturer, to launch a collection of winter gloves that combines cutting-edge innovation with traditional craftsmanship. The collection of Hestra-designed gloves feature LEKI’s Trigger security system, and will debut this winter in time for the 2024-25 ski season.

“We are very excited to collaborate with a market leader to complement LEKI’s extensive range of Trigger gloves and mittens. Offering Hestra‘s distinctive style and craftsmanship will be a perfect combination for all LEKI and Hestra customers all over the world”, explains LEKI CEO Matthias Hatt.

“At Hestra, we are very passionate about gloves and constantly strive to improve our products. Through this collaboration, we have the opportunity to enhance both our product and the customer experience with an entirely new innovation,” says Anton Magnusson, CEO of Hestra Gloves.

LEKI and Hestra, both family-owned leaders in the outdoor industry, are dedicated to creating the highest quality products available and are known for their commitment to innovation which is achieved through ongoing technical advancements and exceptional craftsmanship in their manufacturing processes.

In the late 1990s, LEKI introduced the first iteration of its innovative Trigger technology to the Alpine skiing market which allowed skiers to place a frame strap over their gloves or mittens, including a device clipped into a receptacle on the grip. This design eliminated the traditional loop strap and provided a seamless interface, enabling skiers to make more precise pole plants and ensuring a more secure attachment to the pole. The Trigger system has evolved significantly over the past 25 years with the latest generation of Trigger gloves and mittens featuring a small loop sewn directly into the glove, allowing it to easily click into the grip. Users can enter and exit the system effortlessly with the push of a button, offering unmatched performance and ultimate security.

The new glove collection includes three models; two models designed specifically for use with LEKI Trigger poles for alpine skiing and racing and one model designed specifically for use with LEKI Trigger Shark poles for cross-country skiing and biathlon. Hestra will soft launch the glove collection through select retailers in December 2024, with a full rollout scheduled for fall 2025.
