Lightweight, Roomy Options Highlight Sierra Designs 2018 Tent Collection

Brand also adds trekking poles to lineup for the first time

Boulder, CO – Sierra Designs sets the bar when it comes to lightweight, livable space in tent design, and its Spring 2018 line is no exception. Whether you’re a seasoned backcountry explorer or new to the world of outdoor adventure, Sierra Designs offers cool, technical shelters to fit your needs and budget. In addition, the brand will add two styles of trekking poles to its lineup for the first time.

The Sweet Suite is pushing the limits of lightweight yet livable space for the money. This 2-door, 2-vestibule lightweight tent features a unique pre-bent pole geometry that creates near vertical walls for exceptional interior space. The Sweet Suite is semi-freestanding and offers a fast and easy two-pole setup. Constructed of 20d nylon fabrics, the Sweet Suite features a full mesh upper and weighs just 3lb 1oz (2p version). This tent will be available at select retailers Fall 2017. MSRP: $369.95/2p; $459.95/3p

Sierra Designs created the High Side with the solo adventurer and bikepacker in mind. This 1-door, 1-vestibule featherlight tent features pre-bent poles and a distinct shape with a higher side over the door to provide maximum space at a minimum weight. Its low-profile design, small pack size and versatile awning make it a perfect choice for traveling light. The High Side weighs 1lb 14oz. MSRP: $279.95

The Studio was designed to be Sierra Designs’ lightest freestanding two-person tent (2lb 12oz) without sacrificing usable space. This 1-door, 1-vestibule featherlight tent features a custom 160° aluminum hub that creates a near-vertical door wall with a generous 40” peak height, and a large, single full-coverage vestibule provides ample storage space. The Studio offers a simple two-pole setup, and will also be available in a 3-person version. MSRP: $349.95/2p; $419.95/3p

The final new addition to the 2018 tent lineup is the Meteor, a 2 or 3-person tent that provides vast interior space at a minimum weight and affordable price. The Meteor’s steep wall angles create nearly 30 sq. ft. of interior space (2p), and its 2-door, 2-vestibule design makes it a perfect go-anywhere tent. The Meteor weighs 3lb 15oz (2p), and will be available at select retailers Fall 2017. MSRP: $249.95/2p; $299.95/3p

Sierra Designs introduces a new category for the brand with two trekking poles for Spring 2018. The Collapsible Trekking Poles offer incredible versatility for changing terrain by expanding from 24” to 54”. Two locking mechanisms ensure stability, and the full carbon poles and tungsten carbide tips are built to last. The Collapsible Trekking Poles feature full cork handles, and weigh just 14.5oz (pair). MSRP: $119.95. The new Folding Poles offer a unique take in the market with one expandable section plus folding cabled sections with coated steel cables. The carbon top sections have 8” of adjustability, while the bottom sections are made from aluminum for increased durability. The Folding Poles also feature full cork handles, and weigh 1lb 2oz (pair). MSRP: $149.95
