Maine Fly Company bucks the modern trend of mass production, sourcing components locally when possible and handcrafting small batch rods with intention, precision, and personality. Each batch is named after well-known Maine waterways and designed with various sizes, weights, actions, grips, and configurations, telling a story all their own. For example, the Kennebec pays homage to the 170-mile renowned trout river. This 9-foot fast action carbon rod exhibits a perfect blend of responsiveness and power featuring unique design elements that draw inspiration from the vintage Maine Guide patch worn by registered guides. The finished product is a work of art, incorporating an earthy pine matte finish, burnt orange wraps, and an all-wood reel seat. Additionally, no rod is recreated until the initial design earns its stripes on the water, ensuring all elements are perfected before it’s ushered into small batch production.
