Mammut Wins Outdoor Retailer Innovation Award With Sustainable Rope Collection

The Mammut 9.5 Crag We Care Classic Rope, launching February 2021, was awarded the title by the Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards judges, who evaluated 30 finalist products and services based on four criteria: Spark: concept, design, appeal; Desire: opportunity, differentiation; Function: innovation, functionality, insight; and Impact: cultural, environmental, business.

With the 9.5 Crag We Care Classic Rope, Mammut is reducing the environmental footprint of its rope production for climbing. The sheath of the single rope is made from residual yarn leftover from other rope constructions, and each batch of 9.5 Crag We Care Classic Rope is one of a kind, featuring its own individual pattern. This rope is an example of responsible use of resources leading to reduced carbon emissions and stands alone in the industry as a uniquely thoughtful and innovative product.
