November 18, 2021

Outside Magazine, Backcountry Magazine, Backpacker Magazine and Blister Gear Review highlight Norrøna outerwear in 2021 winter buyer’s guides

BOULDER, Colo. (Nov. 18, 2021) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Norrøna, the four-season Norwegian outdoor brand known for its sustainably built premium outerwear, celebrates the inclusion of key new styles from its winter collection in four of the most respected buyer’s guides in the outdoor industry: Outside Magazine, Backpacker Magazine, Backcountry Magazine and Blister Gear Review. The media outlets highlighted eight industry leading Norrøna products, including the all-new lofoten Gore-Tex Thermo100 Jacket, lyngen Dri2 Thermo60 Jacket and trollveggen Gore-Tex Pro Light Jacket in their recently published annual winter gear guides.

“Our no-compromise approach to meticulously designing, testing and executing each product enables the fantastic experiences the buyer’s guide testers had with our products. This is what we hope for when we build all our apparel and gear – delivering ultimate durability, functionality and joy to our outdoor family,” says Adam Chamberlain, U.S. sales manager Norrøna. “We are honored and excited for the inclusion in these key buyer’s guides and will continuously aim to deliver industry leading products to our adventure-minded customers.”

The lofoten Gore-Tex Thermo 100 Jacket was featured in the “Best Jacket” category, named the best fully featured resort shell. For the “Best Women’s Running Kit” category, the Norrøna Winter Tights were called, “the holy grail of winter running leggings: warm and thick for the coldest days, but not restrictive.” Packing down to the size of a fist, the 7 ounce lyngen Down850 Knickers earned a spot in the “Best Snow Safety Gear” category of the guide.

After long-term testing, Backcountry Magazine included the lyngen Dri2 Thermo60 Jacket in their annual Winter Gear Guide. The lyngen Dri2 Thermo60 Jacket is a technical, fully taped insulated jacket perfectly designed for ski touring and other high-intensity activities. The jacket is made in a 15D 2L dri2, recycled nylon, and 100% recycled polyester body-mapped insulation.

The lyngen Gore-Tex Jacket was named the “Best Shell for Ski Touring” in Backpacker Magazine’s Winter Gear Guide. One tester highlighted Norrøna’s design philosophy of loaded minimalism, stating “thoughtful details abound, such as a well-designed, helmet-friendly hood with a high, roomy collar. I could zip the jacket over my nose and still comfortably breathe without my goggles fogging up.” Earlier this year, Norrøna was also included in Backpacker Magazine spring buyer’s guide.

Finally, Blister Gear Review revealed the publication’s annual gear guide, with three Norrøna products featured, including the trollveggen Gore-Tex Pro Light Jacket and the lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Plus Pants. The lofoten Primaloft80 Anorak was also featured, and described as “a unique insulation layer that blurs the line between outerwear and midlayers.”
