WNC outdoor collaborative supports outdoor industry growth in WNC
October 5, 2021 – Asheville, NC – The Outdoor Gear Builders of WNC (OGB) is excited to announce the new WNC Outdoor Industry Job Board, to better connect outdoor companies to people interested in being a part of the outdoor industry hub of the East. The job board, which is part of a new OGB website, will serve as a key component of continued economic growth in the region.
Over 60 OGB member businesses and organizations provide more than 760 jobs regionwide, and well over $8M in local sourcing of materials and contracts in our region. The new OGB job board provides opportunities for businesses and individuals to match skills and talent to positions to grow the outdoor economy of Western NC.
“We know that finding qualified applicants is a challenge for our members,” states Laurel Scherer, OGB board chair. “Our hope is that with this job board, we will help make it easier for our members and outdoor industry job-seekers to connect.”
The job board was made possible by support from the Appalachian Regional Commission’s POWER Grant to support outdoor economic growth and job creation in Western North Carolina. Free to all job seekers, the platform is a great way for outdoor businesses to connect with potential employees and vice versa.
OGB members can post unlimited job listings. Non-OGB members with outdoor-focused businesses in WNC may post an open position by either joining the Outdoor Gear Builders of WNC or submitting an inquiry for a paid listing. Learn more about becoming a member and how to join the OGB here.
