“Paradise Waits”, new Film from Teton Gravity Research, available today on DVD

JACKSON, Wyo. (Oct. 4, 2015) Today, leading media producer and content curator in action sports, Teton Gravity Research (TGR), announces the availability of their newest action sports film on DVD, “Paradise Waits”. The film follows cold fronts, winter weather, and a cast of world-class athletes as they seek paradise across the globe. A broad range of ski and snowboard disciplines are highlighted, ranging from 50-degree pitches, deep in Alaska, to the snow-buried urban landscapes of Boston, Massachusetts, all captured with remarkably stunning clarity.

At the International Freeskiing Film Festival last month in Montreal, the film was a runner up for Best Cinematography. In addition to this recognition, Angel Collinson, the female skier whose segment is the climax of the film, was honored with the award for the Best Female Freeride Performance. To celebrate the film’s availability on DVD, TGR is sharing Collinson’s inspiring segment.

“For me, the journey and the wait are part of the adventure”, declares Collinson. “This year in Alaska we had multiple days of scud, precipitation and long waits between filming. It’s easy to let the down-days creep into your subconscious and create an internal struggle. The key for me in having a positive attitude is working with a great team and finding 10 minutes each morning to center myself and remember how lucky I am in life.”

Revealed not only in her skiing, Collinson’s segment establishes her deservedness of recognition. Throughout a winter with less-than-average precipitation, she maintains a flurry of positive energy and smiles, influencing those who surround her to do the same. This energy parallels the general theme of “Paradise Waits”, providing viewers a look into a lighter side of a film project.
