Inspired by the beauty of our environment, photography leader joins 1% For The Planet
San Francisco, CA (May 16, 2016) — Peak Design, a market leader and innovator of essential carrying equipment and camera accessories, is proud to solidify the company’s commitment to a beautiful and sustainable world by joining 1% For The Planet, a non-profit organization that assists and connects business with initiatives to support a healthy planet. To amplify this commitment and inspire others to do the same, Peak Design is delighted to announce the first annual SUMM1T, a celebration of adventure, creativity, and stewardship in San Francisco July 14, with proceeds donated to environmental non-profit work.
Since 2010, Peak Design has forged a reputation for developing innovative products and solutions that help capture the magnificence of the natural world. The decision to pledge 1% of company’s pre-tax revenue was an important objective Peak Design was eager to work toward and gratified to achieve.
“Peak Design occupies a unique space, smack-dab in between the creative and adventure communities. We decided that our mission shouldn’t just be to serve these communities, but to help these communities serve each other in pursuit of preserving the one thing that unanimously drives us: the beautiful world we live in,” commented Peak Design Marketing Director Adam Saraceno. “Joining 1% For The Planet holds us accountable to this goal, and brings us into a family of likeminded businesses and entrepreneurs.”
Celebrating the organization’s 10-year anniversary with over $100 million invested toward impactful environmental non-profits, 1% For The Planet has been at the forefront of facilitating the exchange between private business philanthropy and environmental non-profit work. With a company ethos inspired by the beauty of the natural world, Peak Design plans to direct their 1% revenue contribution toward objects that will further protect coastal environments and wild places.
The SUMM1T event, taking place July 14 at SOMArts Gallery in San Francisco, will celebrate art, creativity, and environmental stewardship with a photo gallery and auction featuring works by Jimmy Chin, Chris Burkard, and other notable adventure photograpers. The event will be keynoted by Patagonia brand visionary Jeff Johnson. Ticket price includes craft beer from Lagunitas Brewing Company, food, and a live DJ set. Tickets for the event may be purchased at www.summ1t.com
