Royal Robbins’ Moves Exclusively to 100% Fluorocarbon-Free DWR

Royal Robbins leads among U.S.-based brands by eliminating PFC-based DWR treatments throughout its entire collection

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (June 28, 2017) — Royal Robbins’ Spring 2018 collection will exclusively feature 100% non-fluorinated “Ec-0 DWR™”: an eco-friendly upgrade with the same waterproof performance features of its predecessor.

Royal Robbins is the first US outdoor brand to eliminate the use of PFC-based DWR treatments by expanding the Ec-0 DWR collection to include all treated outerwear and pants.

The heritage apparel brand is eliminating fluorocarbon-based DWR treatments throughout its entire collection to combat the negative environmental effects of the toxic by-products that persist in the environment long after the manufacturing process.

The earth-friendly outerwear and pant styles, dubbed “Ec-0 DWR”, are designed for milder climates with the functionality and versatility to go from town to trail.

Royal Robbins’ non-fluorinated Ec-0 DWR is available in four women’s and four men’s outerwear styles as well as several pants for both genders. All jackets feature the heritage brand’s “Go Everywhere” aesthetic and are embedded with key performance features like breathability and durability.

Oakham Waterproof Jacket, $109
