Rumpl and Snow Peak Reunite for an Upgraded Fire-Resistant Blanket
September 26, 2024
Back for a third collaboration, Rumpl and Snow Peak launch a new limited edition fire-resistant Takibi Blanket
Portland, Oregon (September 26, 2024)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Rumpl, inventor of the Technical Blanket category and the Original Puffy Blanket, proudly announces the launch of its third fire-resistant blanket – the Takibi Blanket – with Portland-based Japanese camping brand Snow Peak.
The 50 x 70” throw-size blanket addresses the threat of stray sparks or embers while keeping users warm around the fire. This flame-resistant blanket won’t be impacted when the campfire changes course or when a few stray embers jump from the logs.
Takibi, the Japanese word for bonfire, is the catalyst for the collaboration. Takibi Time is known in Japan as an opportunity to gather together around the campfire, relax, reflect and reconnect to nature. The Snow Peak x Rumpl collaboration is designed for this exact use case and complements several Snow Peak camping products within its collection.
After a successful partnership in 2020, followed by a sequel in 2022, this third iteration brings consumers a new limited-edition design that combines Rumpl’s proprietary 100% post-consumer recycled NanoLoft® insulation with its fire-resistant ripstop Takibi material. Twelve recycled plastic bottles are used to make the latest Takibi Blanket. The design features a cape clip hardware that allows users to sport the blanket hands-free around their shoulders—ideal for sitting around the bonfire.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Rumpl for a third season on a piece that reflects both brands’ passion for craftsmanship and outdoor living,” said Noah Reis, chief operating officer at Snow Peak USA. “This new collection continues to draw inspiration from the tradition of Takibi Time, where the beauty of gathering around a fire is central. Each item not only provides functional warmth but is designed to deepen the connection between people and nature. Together with Rumpl, we’re committed to creating products that enhance these shared outdoor experiences with lasting quality and thoughtful design.”
Both Rumpl and Snow Peak center around creating a healthy and thriving earth. Snow Peak is working towards 100% clean energy for raw materials and manufacturing. Similarly, Rumpl looks to the future responsibility by way of its 100% post-consumer recycled materials used in the lineup of products and through multiple sustainability initiatives, recounted in its 2023 report.
“Collaborating with Snow Peak again was a natural choice, given our shared commitments to crafting high-quality, utilitarian products for gathering outdoors,” said Wylie Robinson, CEO and founder of Rumpl.
“Our flame-resistant Takibi collaborations have become a Rumpl fan favorite, and we’re excited for a third iteration that demos our blanket technology and enriches your time spent around the fire.”
The limited edition NanoLoft® Takibi Blanket will be available for purchase for $200 on September 26 through Rumpl and Snow Peak’s e-commerce sites and in select Snow Peak stores and retail partners.
