Salomon Adds Drew Peterson to Mountain Collective Athlete Team
January 17, 2018
OGDEN, Utah — Today, Salomon announces the addition of Drew Petersen to the roster of elite athletes comprising the Mountain Collective, the brand’s freeski and outdoor sports team. Petersen is a professional skier and outdoor adventurer living in Salt Lake City.
“We’re excited to welcome Drew to the Salomon family! His diverse skillset across disciplines and seasons paired with his ability to tell great stories makes him a great fit for the Salomon brand,” says Bruno Bertrand, Salomon’s skiing and outdoor sports marketing manager.
Athletes play a pivotal role in the research and development process at Salomon. Since its founding, 71 years ago, Salomon has utilized athletes for product testing and design, incorporating their expert opinions to help bring new products to market. Petersen will provide input on ski hardgoods, winter apparel, backpacks, footwear, and more.
“I want to continue evolving as an all-around mountain athlete and Salomon is the perfect team to help me do so,” says Petersen. “The elite-level product and people associated with the Salomon brand make it the ideal company to partner with, and I am keen to learn from everyone on the team and at the brand.”
As a junior, Petersen was named, for two consecutive years, to Powder Magazine’s Top 20 Skiers Under 18, and in 2011 was the runner up on the Junior Freeride Tour. More recently, Petersen has focused on filming, photography and storytelling. His latest film project, “Ski the Wild West,” depicted a journey through the American West during which Peterson and his partners skied the tallest mountains in 11 different states.
