SCARPA earns SKI award for ‘Best Freeride Boot of 2025,’ partners with freeride skier Nikolai Schirmer

SCARPA is also partnering on the Quattro Pro launch with Norwegian freeride skier Nikolai Schirmer, known for his adventurous ski descents that are shared via his widely followed YouTube channel, where he recently discussed why the boot works so well for the type of skiing he does.

Recognized two times as European Skier of The Year, Schirmer has won numerous awards for his extraordinary technical skills on snow and his creativity in combining extreme sport and visual storytelling.
Schirmer joins the SCARPA athlete roster with Chris Davenport, another skier who is extremely accomplished at both freeride skiing and backcountry travel, and a longtime brand partner who contributed to the development of the Quattro line of boots.
In addition, the Quattro Pro — a hybrid between a high-performance freeride alpine boot and a lightweight alpine-touring boot — won Backcountry Magazine’s Editor’s Choice Award, and earned positive reviews in Blister Gear Review’s annual buyer’s guide and Men’s Journal, where it made a list of “Best New Ski Boots for 2025.”
The 4-Quattro Pro comes to market with the goal of setting a new benchmark in the freeride world, being the highest performing and lightest product in the industry. The result of extensive research, the boot is suited to skiers who tackle the steepest and most challenging lines at full speed, paired with backcountry travel to reach them.
Relative to other boots in SCARPA’s Quattro family, the 130+ 4-Quattro Pro features a new reinforced, stiffer cuff, designed with a hinge point at the base of the tongue that allows for faster power transmission to the skis.
Despite having a level of power that will drive any ski inbounds at the resort, the 4-Quattro Pro is very light at 1,555 grams and features 60 degrees of friction-free cuff range for stellar ski touring and walking. It also features the only full-coverage GripWalk sole on the market, which translates to versatility between different types of bindings and improves traction and security for ski patrollers or anyone who spends time walking in their ski boots.
Sustainability is also at the forefront with a lower shell and cuff made from renewable, plant-based sources.
