Annual Prestigious Award Ranks America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies
HOUSTON, Texas (August 13, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Turtlebox Audio, a leading manufacturer of portable outdoor audio devices, today has been ranked number 209 (#20 among Texas-based companies) in the 2024 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Inc. Magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 list is the most prestigious, data-driven ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Microsoft, Meta, Chobani, Under Armour, Timberland, Oracle, Patagonia, and many other household-name brands gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.
The Inc. 5000 class of 2024 represents companies that have driven rapid revenue growth while navigating inflationary pressure, the rising costs of capital, and seemingly intractable hiring challenges. Among this year’s top 500 companies, the average median three-year revenue growth rate is 1,637 percent. In all, this year’s Inc. 5000 companies have added 874,458 jobs to the economy over the past three years.
“We’re honored and humbled to be recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in America,” said Will Bradley, co-founder of Turtlebox Audio. “Turtlebox has quickly grown from a founding group of four best friends, to a growing team of more than eighty passionate employees. We’re proud to represent the outdoors industry, as well as our home state of Texas, among so many other successful American businesses and entrepreneurs on this year’s Inc. 5000 list.”
Since 2021, Turtlebox has experienced 200% (3x) year-over-year growth for three consecutive years. The brand’s internal team has grown from four employees to more than 80 employees (and continues to hire), while expanding its office space footprint 10x in that time frame. In 2024, the brand is anticipating another impressive year of 200% growth. With an emphasis on strategic community engagement, Turtlebox has formed meaningful partnerships with influential individuals and organizations in the brand’s core outdoor and mainstream categories. Most recently, Turtlebox has established partnerships with big wave surfing icon, Shane Dorian; Barbeque Pit Master, Matt Pittman; Major League Baseball player, AJ Minter; country music group Shane Smith and the Saints; conservation groups such as Captains for Clean Water; and Major League Baseball franchise, the Houston Astros (among others).
Turtlebox’s cornerstone product, the Gen 2 Portable Speaker, combines durability, portability, and premium audio quality—creating the ultimate outdoor speaker. Initially released in 2022, The speaker is 100% waterproof (IP67 Rated) and crush-proof, while boasting best-in-class audio quality, and 25+ hours of playtime on a single charge. Users can connect wirelessly thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 and can pair multiple Turtlebox speakers together to engage a true left/right stereo surround sound experience. The speaker also offers USB-C output for users to most charge personal devices in the field, as well as a microphone input and auxiliary connectivity. With various color and personalization options, the Gen 2 Portable Speaker is an extremely fun product designed to enhance outdoor adventures on the water, at the mountain, in the backyard, and everywhere in between.

“One of the greatest joys of my job is going through the Inc. 5000 list,” says Mike Hofman, who recently joined Inc. as editor-in-chief. “To see all of the intriguing and surprising ways that companies are transforming sectors, from health care and AI to apparel and pet food, is fascinating for me as a journalist and storyteller. Congratulations to this year’s honorees, as well, for growing their businesses fast despite the economic disruption we all faced over the past three years, from supply chain woes to inflation to changes in the workforce.”

More about Inc. and the Inc. 5000
Methodology
Companies on the 2024 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2020 to 2023. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2020. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2023. (Since then, some on the list may have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2020 is $100,000; the minimum for 2023 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Growth rates used to determine company rankings were calculated to four decimal places.
