Wagner Custom Offers Factory Ski Line Up
October 20, 2021
James Niehues Trail Map Graphics Now Available on Custom, Factory Skis
(Telluride, CO) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Wagner Custom, the Telluride, Colorado-based makers of truly custom skis, is announcing the launch of a Factory line up for the 2021-2022 season. Known as the gold standard in custom ski making for tailoring skis specifically to each individual’s “Skier DNA”, Wagner’s Factory skis offer skiers an option to choose stiffness, material upgrades, and unique graphics with a faster order time and a more approachable price.
Four models of Factory skis are now available; a dedicated touring ski, a “50-50” ski for splitting time between resort and backcountry, a powerful resort all-mountain, and a resort powder and variable snow charger.
“Factory skis are perfect for skiers who have an immediate need and are looking for a quick-turn order, but still want a ski that is personalized for them,” said Pete Wagner, founder of Wagner Custom. “Our Factory line up is what most companies consider to be a custom ski. It’s a scaled back version of the classic Wagner Custom ski, where we design and completely optimize the ski for the individual.”
Wagner Custom is the only company that custom designs and builds 100% of the ski specifically for each skier. Working with experts in Telluride, Colorado, custom ski customers submit a “Skier DNA” profile specific to their preferred style of skiing, terrain, and other variables. Wagner’s ski crafting experts then build skis to each skier’s body mechanics, terrain preference, ability level, and style to create the perfect ski, one custom ski at a time. The result is a ski that yields better balance, control, versatility, comfort, ease, and, most importantly, fun on the hill.
Wagner’s Factory skis will be produced in the same 100% solar-powered ski factory in Telluride. Visitors this winter can grab a pair of Factory skis within a few days and test them immediately at the resort or in less traveled terrain.
Both Wagner Custom and Factory skis will give skiers the option of the new James Niehues collection graphics, where some home mountains can be featured on the top sheet with the iconic illustrator’s ski maps. Skiers can now have the graphics of Alta/Snowbird, Jackson Hole, Snowmass, Whistler/Blackcomb and of course, Telluride featured on their skis, only from Wagner Custom.
“Telluride is the only place in the country where you can have custom skis crafted at the base of the mountain – right there at the gondola – and ski right out to test them on some of Colorado’s – and North America’s- most classic and varied terrain,” said Wagner. “It’s kind of like the purchasing process of a luxury car in Europe, where you can pick up your new ride directly from the factory, and test drive it on a formula-inspired test track or the autobahn. Now, skiers can grab a Factory ski or dial up a Custom ski here onsite or online and test them on their home mountain or favored terrain.”
Getting fitted for custom skis is easy and starts with a call with a ski designer which can be scheduled at www.wagnerskis.com/skitalk. Factory skis start at $1450 and Custom start at $1750.
